My Favourite Whistler Wedding Venues

Whistler has no shortage of incredible wedding venues, from lakeside lodges and alpine settings to some of the valley’s most iconic resorts. After years of filming weddings here, these are some of my favourite Whistler wedding venues and the places I know particularly well.

Getting married at the Fairmont Chateau Whistler feels a little like getting married in a castle—only your backdrop is the mountains. From a videography perspective, it’s one of those venues that gives you a huge amount to work with without needing to manufacture moments. The Mountain View Lawn offers some of the best wedding views in Whistler, while the cozy Chalet creates a completely different, more intimate feel. The Woodlands Terrace adds another unique setting with its rooftop chapel surrounded by forest and mountains. Throughout the day, there are beautiful transitions between grand landscapes, elegant interiors, quiet corners, and candid moments—which gives me plenty of variety to create a wedding film that feels cinematic while still feeling completely like you.

The Squamish Lil’wat Cultural Centre is a particularly beautiful place to film a wedding in Whistler. The architecture gives your film a strong sense of place, while the surrounding forest and mountain landscape provide endless opportunities for natural, cinematic shots throughout the day. I love the way the light moves through the property, the contrast between the warm wood interiors and the surrounding evergreens, and how easily you can move between intimate moments and sweeping mountain scenery. For a Whistler wedding videographer, it’s a venue with plenty of visual variety without ever feeling overly produced—which makes it ideal for capturing the real moments of your day.

Nita Lake Lodge is a dream to film because the setting does so much of the work for you. Tucked beside Whistler’s private lake, the property gives you water, mountains, forest, and beautiful outdoor spaces to weave throughout your wedding film. I love the variety here—from quiet moments around the lake and dock to the warmth and character of the lodge itself. The changing light across the water and mountains can make even simple moments feel cinematic, while the relaxed atmosphere lends itself naturally to candid, unhurried footage. For a Whistler wedding videographer, Nita Lake offers that perfect combination of big mountain scenery and intimate in-between moments.

Wedge Mountain Lodge is the kind of Whistler wedding venue that feels naturally cinematic. Tucked away from the busier parts of the valley, the property offers a more private, intimate setting with towering trees and dramatic mountain scenery all around. From getting ready at the lodge to outdoor celebrations and quiet moments with your favourite people, there are plenty of opportunities to capture the day as it actually unfolds. I love venues like this from a videography perspective—the setting is beautiful without feeling overly polished, giving me room to create a film that feels adventurous, personal, and true to the experience of being there.

The Audain Art Museum is unlike anywhere else in Whistler—and that makes it incredibly fun to film. The dramatic architecture and clean, modern lines create a beautiful visual contrast to the surrounding forest and mountains, giving your wedding film a distinctive sense of place. Inside, the museum’s gallery spaces offer an elegant, atmospheric setting for intimate moments and celebrations, while outside, the natural landscape brings in the unmistakable feeling of Whistler. From a videography perspective, the variety is fantastic: bold architectural shots, quiet gallery moments, movement through the forest, and sweeping mountain scenery all come together to create a film that feels sophisticated, artistic, and unmistakably Whistler.
